What is Kung Fu?
Kung Fu is a collective term for the martial arts that originated in China. The practice of Kung Fu not only develops a strong and healthy body, but it also strengthens the mind with high moral values, as its practice focuses on “Wu De”, or martial ethics. More recently, Kung Fu has developed into a globally competitive sport and it is gaining popularity worldwide due to its unique and exciting content.
My name is Han Mei. My students call me Shifu Mei. I come from North-East China. I trained in the art of Wushu, also known as Kung Fu, since age 6. I began professional training at the age of 12 when I was accepted into the Liaoning Province Professional Wushu team, China. And later at age 15, I joined the National Chinese Wushu Team. I competed on the regional and national levels winning many professional martial arts championships. Most notably, I won 1st place in the 10th annual National Games.
After graduating from Beijing Sports University as a certified coach I returned to the Liaoning Province team, in Shenyang China, as Head Coach. I coached my team at various national and international competitions.
Over 12 years of comprehensive martial arts coaching experience training professional martial arts athletes to compete in international competitions.
